"WE TEACH ADULTS TO READ"

Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William, Inc.was founded in 1991 by librarian and President Emeritus Dona Swanson. Our mission is to teach adults to read. LVA-PW is an affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc., a nationwide organization of over 400 affiliates. We take volunteers from the community, train them to be tutors and then match them with adults with low level literacy skills. LVA-PW provides the professional training, material and support that enable the volunteers to be effective tutors. All services to the student are free.

Are you interested in being a tutor? Wonderful, please click here to read what tutors have to say about their experience or here to sign up for our workshop.

If you would like more information, would like to sign up for The Basic Literacy Tutor Training Workshop or have comments or questions concerning LVA-PW call the office at 703-670-5702 or send email to LVA-PW.

Are you or someone you know interested in working on their reading, writing or math skills or improving their English? Please call the office and set up an appointment with our Student Coordinator and we will start the process.
