The Meadowbrook Makos are a part of the Prince William Swim League (PWSL). The PWSL was founded in 1974 to sponsor swimming in and among the communities in Prince William County. All policies and procedures of the PWSL are centered on providing a safe, fair, and athletically challenging program for all swimmers while developing the principles of good sportsmanship, advanced swimming skills, and teamwork.

Teams are grouped into 7 divisions based on factors such as team size (number of swimmers), team depth (distribution of swimmers across the age ranges), and the combined ranking of swimmers’ times from each Divisional meet (aka the Cyber Meet). The alignment of teams is done to try and maintain competitiveness within the league.

PWSL Divisions:

• Division 1 (Blue) - Sudley Seahorses, Ridgewood Barracudas, Lake Ridge Lancers
• Division 2 (Red) - Wellington Dolphins, Bridlewood Bridlewaves, Kingsbrooke Sea Lions
• Division 3 (White)- Ben Lomond Flying Ducks, Victory Lakes Piranhas, Braemar Blasters
• Division 4 (Yellow) - Montclair Seahawks, Dale City Frogs, Old Bridge Breakers
• Division 5 (Green) - Meadowbrook Woods Makos, Urbanna Otters, Ashland Stingrays
• Division 6 (Black) - Brookside Hurricanes, Virginia Oaks Sea Devils, Westridge Waves, Dominion Valley Sharks
• Division 7 (Orange) - Veteran's Park Marlins, Lake Manassas Blue Dolphins, Piedmont Tsunamis, Stonewall Park Explosions
