Dan Hurlow earned a Bachelor of Music Education at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and a Master of Music in Performance at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. He currently is the Director of Bands at Fred Lynn Middle School in Prince William County. He also performs professionally on saxophone and woodwinds in the Washington, DC area and teaches private lessons on saxophone, flute, and clarinet.
