
Michael Marolda plays tenor saxophone with the Dunbar Saxophone Quartet. He is the lead tenor player in the George Mason Jazz Band and plays in several jazz combos at George Mason. He studied the tenor saxophone for two years at the University of North Texas, after graduating from Hylton High School in Prince William County. Michael has played the saxophone since the sixth grade, and through middle and high school played in All-County and All-District bands. As a high school junior he was the first chair tenor in the Virginia All-State Band. In addition to playing in the DSQ and the Prince William Community Band, Michael plays jazz regularly at a club in D.C. He also plays alto sax and clarinet.
