Aaron Cook earned his first Carolina League victory, he worked eight innings allowing seven hits on three earned runs. Steve Stemle suffered his fourth loss in six starts against Salem. Stemle pitched six plus innings, he gave up nine hits and six earned runs. For the second straight game, the Avalanche turned up the offense in the last three innings. On Tuesday night, Salem scored eight runs and did the same thing on Wednesday. Choo Freeman was 3-for-4 with 2 rbi for Salem. The Cannons were led offensively by Troy Farnsworth (2-for-4) and Damon Thames (2-for-4). The Cannons are off on Thursday and host the Frederick Keys in a four-game series starting on Friday night.
