About US

The Woodbridge Youth Chorale (WYC) is a community choral group made up of young singers from Prince William County who rehearse weekly and perform at a variety of community events.  Membership is open to all children enrolled in fourth through eighth grade during their first season, and who successfully complete the audition process.

WYC provides the children of Prince William County an opportunity for additional musical training to further stimulate and enhance their musical growth and development. This is achieved through the promotion of correct vocal singing techniques and proper stage presence and movement. The singers perform two and three part vocal music which is both musically challenging for them and appealing to the wide variety of audiences for which they perform. The spectrum of music chosen by the Director develops a musically-educated performer.

A Board of Directors, serving in a volunteer capacity, administers the Chorale. The music leadership consists of a director and accompanist who receive honoraria.  From the many invitations received each season, the Musical Director and WYC Board determine a schedule of performances for the season designed to provide a well-rounded experience for both the performers and the community that financially supports WYC.
The majority of performances are within Prince William County; with some reaching the nearby metropolitan area. The Christmas concert includes a variety of secular and sacred seasonal music.  Popular tunes and classical numbers fill the spring repertoire.
