Placement in Choirs

The audition, conducted by the Director, determines a student’s eligibility to be placed in ensembles on the basis of their performing, sight singing, music reading abilities, and any other determining factor deemed appropriate by the Director.

Students will be placed in sections to achieve the best vocal balance for their choir.  This will be determined through singing auditions. Each part is of equal importance for a total balanced sound.

Once a child is a member of the WYC, he/she generally does not need to re-audition for successive seasons.  The Director reserves the right to re-audition a student to determine possible voice part changes or any special concerns.
